Nodor Versus Extractor Hoods Other Brands
WHY BUY NODOR EXTRACTOR HOODS?
The Nodor extractors in our store offer security in quality and operations that other hoods do not offer, you can be sure that you will have your kitchen in the most impeccable way possible in the long term, since the manufacturing materials have the highest quality standards.
WHAT ARE NODOR EXTRACTOR HOODS?
Not all kitchens are suitable for duct extraction; for example, the plate may be too far from an exterior wall. Instead, you can opt for a recirculation model – this will pass air through filters to neutralize odors before returning it to the kitchen.
Although less effective than a ducted model, the fact that a recirculating fan does not have to be attached to an external wall means that it can be installed almost anywhere in the kitchen.
Many styles of hoods can be configured for recirculation or ducted extraction. Talk to your kitchen installer about how your best options might work within your proposed layout.
OPERATION OF NODOR HOODS
Extractor hoods remove smoke, odors, heat, air vapor, airborne grease and combustion products, helping to improve air quality that experts recommend renewing in the kitchen between 6 and 12 times the hour.
Another point is that they help extend the life of kitchen furniture by eliminating the moisture that spoils them. Many people hardly use the bell because it makes noise or because of forgetfulness. Fortunately, the new models are quieter, although somewhat more expensive for it, and for the sake of safety, now bring features for the forgetful, such as automatic on and off, or operation timers that can be programmed.
WHAT SHOULD YOU KNOW BEFORE INSTALLING A NODOR EXTRACTOR?
Extractors Nodor are located on the back or to the side of the plate, when in use rising and falling out of sight when not necessary. Sitting almost flush with the countertop, the downdrafts create a streamlined aesthetic and dispense with a bulky extractor in your sight lines.
If you can install a Nodor exhaust fan against a wall, you can drop the ducts under the cabinets and directly to the exterior wall, making installation less of a hassle. However, if you want to install it on an island, you will need to plan a driving route at the beginning of the installation process.
” A Nodor extractor cannot be installed on a kitchen island unless you are prepared to dig up the floor and create a duct channel.”
There are a few other considerations to take into account in the planning stage. “With this type of hood, your choice of cooktop can be key, as research has found that pots and pans placed in the front rings of a traditional-style cooktop do not have as good ventilation as those on the back.” says Max McCormick of Miele
“For this reason, a panoramic plate is the best design if you opt for a Nodor hood . This type of plate is narrower and offers four zones almost in line to guarantee that the vapors and the steam of the kitchen are eliminated ”.
WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF NODOR EXTRACTOR HOODS?
A Nodor extractor is installed ideally on an island as it will not interrupt lines of sight across the room. However, you will need ceiling void space above the plate for the drive, motor, and lines.
“You can do without the ducts and choose a recirculating model, but nevertheless you need around 200–400mm depth in the ceiling void for the ceiling exhaust unit, depending on the model,” says Jeanette Ward at Franke.
If you live in an apartment and cannot alter the height of your ceiling, this option will not be for you. But even if you can adjust the height of your ceiling, you will have to think about sound insulation, as the motor can be loud and can be amplified by the space in your ceiling.
Ceiling fans are also not ideal for rooms with very high ceilings, for example period properties, because they are too far from the cooking source. “If the fan is too high, it may be moving the air, but not necessarily eliminating odors and condensation. The optimal recommended distance will be in the manufacturer’s instructions, “advises Jeanette.
HOW WIDTH MUST MY EXTRACTOR HOOD BE?
The cooking vapors are distributed differently depending on the style of the hob. With induction hobs, they go both sideways and upwards, so you will need a wider extractor. For example, if you have a 60 cm induction hob, choose a 90 cm extractor.
With gas, the steam has a candle effect that rises and then rises. That means you can choose a puller that is the same width as your hob.
WHAT LEVELS OF DECIBELES SHOULD I LOCATE?
Noise levels are particularly important if you cook, eat and entertain in an open kitchen, dining room and living room space. After all, no one will be yelling at the noise of an exhaust fan.
Most range hoods will have a noise level of around 70 dB, so if you want one with a low noise level, choose a model that is less than 60 dB.
